Mediacorp and Mo-Sys Academy forge a partnership to drive company-wide adoption of Virtual Production

Singapore, 14/09/2025 – Mediacorp, Singapore’s largest content creator and national media network, has systematically implemented Virtual Production (VP) technology and workflows across the organisation, thanks to its collaboration with leading global VP training provider Mo-Sys Academy. This move highlights Mediacorp’s commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and future-proofing the organisation amid Singapore’s rapidly evolving media landscape.

As part of this initiative, 77 Mediacorp employees are receiving in-depth VP training, with comprehensive, specialist, hands-on courses using the latest Canon Virtual Production System, equipping trainees with the advanced skills to lead next-generation content creation.

After a two-year development process for the Mediacorp VP adoption strategy, Mo-Sys Academy, with its facilities in London, Los Angeles, and Bangkok, was selected as Mediacorp’s strategic partner for this programme.

The efficiency and scalability of Mo-Sys Academy’s VP workflows and training are exemplified by its partnerships with other global organisations, such as Sky, where initial programmes designed for small teams were rapidly expanded to accommodate dozens of technicians per session within a matter of weeks.

The curriculum for this initiative encompasses both green screen and LED wall filming, as well as the use of Canon’s latest camera and lens packages. CVPS eliminates the need for calibrating VP lenses, supporting greater adoption of Virtual Production techniques with OpenLensIO integrations that streamline VP lens calibration processes.

Mediacorp staff are being trained on high-quality LG LED walls to master advanced workflows that deliver realistic reflections, dynamic lighting, and immediate visual feedback. These techniques will enable Mediacorp teams to achieve high production values faster, unleashing new creative possibilities. Notably, the adoption of LED technology will reduce the dependency on a small pool of highly skilled keying specialists, making Virtual Production scalable and accessible throughout the organisation.

By systematically embracing Virtual Production, Mediacorp is not only enhancing creative output and cost-effectiveness, but also significantly lowering its carbon emissions. With the latest scanning workflows, real locations can be captured in minutes, creating virtual environments that allow more productions to film in-studio, reducing traditional production logistics and travel.

Mediacorp’s partnership with Mo-Sys Academy also ensures that it will have continuous access to the latest technology and workflow research.

“At Mo-Sys Academy we specialise in training the next generation of filmmakers with the advanced Virtual Production skills they will be able to use for their entire careers.” said Mo-Sys CEO and Founder, Michael Geissler. “We look forward to supporting Mediacorp on its strategic adoption of Virtual Production technology, training Mediacorp technicians and building strong, long-term relationships as we continue to work with them throughout their VP journeys.”

“We are constantly exploring new frontiers in content creation to better serve and inspire our audiences,” said Virginia Lim, Chief Content Officer, Mediacorp. “Our adoption of Virtual Production marks a step forward in transforming how stories are told. Partnering with Mo-Sys Academy enables us to equip our teams with cutting-edge tools and training, unlocking new creative possibilities while enhancing production efficiency.”

This initiative positions Mediacorp at the forefront of broadcast innovation in Singapore and the region, setting new standards for content creation and operational efficiency.
