Extremely strong and backlash-free drive units give operators instant and delay-free control. The precise gear drives support flawless operation with the biggest zoom lenses, unlike worm gear drives which can cause judder, or belt drives that can be elastic. The hole through the centre of the gear boxes, for cable pass-through, removes the need for slip-rings and makes it future-proof for high bandwidth digital video. This also allows for tangle free direct cabling.
The U50 features a U-shaped double frame for more strength, making it possible to execute whip pans with no bouncing while fully zoomed in. With its incredible torque and robust frame, the U50 can support the heaviest box lens camera packages up to 50kg.
Just like the rest of the Mo-Sys broadcast robotics, the U50 can be operated with a variety of input devices such as hand-wheels, pan-bar or joystick.
Combined with the Vinten 750i and the Mo-Sys Vinten Plate, for encoding, operators get the familiar feel and inertia of direct, hands-on operation.
The button-console interface provides controls for pan/tilt velocity adjustment, input smoothing and direction, user defined position limits with feathering and axes zeroing. It simplifies the operation of the head in remote-mode making it ideal for tech-less operation.
Eliminating the need for operators to manually pan and tilt the camera onsite, the U50 enables broadcasters to deliver coverage from positions previously inaccessible due to logistics or safety concerns. Whether following players on a football pitch or trailing F1 cars from trackside positions, the U50 provides camera operators with the stability and precision to control the cameras and big box lenses remotely. Operators can move the camera from the safety and comfort of a control room with flexible and intuitive input devices, like a joystick or pan bar.

PanBar is a fluid head, designed in collaboration with Cartoni. The mechanics and our high precision electronics make the PanBar an alternative solution for pan and tilt control.
The handwheel system is fully adjustable and goes in a travel box as one unit, which makes the set up quick and easy.
