The Weather Channel launch immersive mixed reality studio

Congratulations once again to The Weather Channel for pushing the visual boundaries of broadcasting. Their new and improved virtual studio has been assembled by Zero Density and Myreze who are utilising Unreal Engine and multiple Mo-Sys StarTrackers.

With this technology The Weather Channel can track the movement of their cameras enabling realistic virtual informational graphics to be added to their set to elevate their extreme weather reporting. The final results are an immersive, three-dimensional demonstration that effectively raise awareness of the most perilous types of weather.

Check out the case study from Unreal Engine below.

Step inside The Weather Channel’s new mixed reality studio and see how the network is leveraging Unreal Engine and Reality Engine to tell more compelling and immersive stories. @weatherchannel #UE4https://t.co/gLKbR31kV7
