Senior Python Software Developer

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Senior Python Software Developer to join an innovative business working with cutting edge technology as part of a small, Agile team. We are a trend-setter and a disruptive global leader in creating highly sophisticated camera technology products, empowering high-quality AR, VR and virtual production for the high-end film and broadcast industry.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Ownership of architectural designs & solutions 
  • Development of cutting-edge cloud products  
  • Guiding a variety of exciting projects 
  • Work closely with the wider technical teams in both our Cambridge and London offices  
  • Support and mentor more junior developers 
  • Push boundaries within existing technology, while also creating and implementing new technology to achieve the best all-round solutions.

 

Requirements  

 

  • Higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar, or equivalent experience  
  • An independent self-starter, with ideally 5+ years of commercial Python experience
  • Previous involvement in the full development life cycle 
  • Strong Python skills with expertise in at least one popular Python framework
  • Linux / Unix experience 
  • Experience writing automated tasks 
  • Familiarity with defining and implementing APIs 
  • Experience writing unit tests and familiarity with CI/CD processes 
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (such as JavaScript and HTML5)
  • Experience with Django, Boto3, AWS beneficial 
  • Good problem-solving abilities, an out of the box thinker 
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Great organisational and time management skills

Interview Process

 

Our interviews are quite informal and conversational, generally carried out over a 3-stage process. To help us learn more about your workplace behaviours and preferences, you will also be invited to complete a short Predictive Index (PI) Behavioural and Cognitive Assessment. Depending on the position, you may also be requested to undertake a technical assessment. The final stage normally involves a visit at the office to meet with senior members of the management team and get a feel for where you will be working.
